Q:  “Who’s in charge of Beat By Beat?”

A:  Pamela Forrest.  She is a dynamic and devoted L.A. based script and story consultant and multi-award winning writer and director.  Pam is refreshingly bullshit free and dedicated to helping you bring out the best in your script, story or show.

Q:  “How does this Beat By Beat consulting thing work, anyway?”

A:  Email Pam at pam@beatbybeatcreative.com and fill her in with a brief description of your particular need, (i.e., “I just finished my first draft and really need professional feedback!” or “I had the most amazing dream last night – can you help me turn it into a script?” or “My story is great but my characters suck – help!”), and we’ll set up a FREE 10 minute phone consultation to get the proverbial ball rolling.

Q:  “What sort of material does Pam consult on?”

A:  Screenplays, stage plays, teleplays, outlines, treatments, loglines, stand-up comedy, performance art, one person shows, roasts, toasts, speeches – you get the idea.  Oh yes - and ideas.

Q:  Can Pam meet with me in person?

A:  Happily!  If you live in the greater Los Angeles area.

Q:  “Is Pam fast?”

A:  A basic script consultation can be turned around in as little as 2 days, if need be, but times will vary depending on the size of the material and the scope of the consultation.  14 business days is more realistic for most jobs, especially if our beloved U.S. Postal Service is involved.

Q:  “Is Pam cheap?”

A:  Pam gives a thousand percent to each and every project she takes on.  So, no, she’s not cheap.  But she is worth every penny.

Q:  “Is my work safe with Pam?  She’s not going to steal any of my ideas - is she?”

A: Your work is completely safe with Pam, although you should never send out a script to anyone before you register it with the WGA. (For copyrights, go to the Library of Congress.)

Q:  “Can Pam help get my script produced?”

A:  No.  Pam is a consultant, not a magician.

Q:  “Will Pam rewrite my script?”

A:  Only if you want her to – and that costs extra.

Q:  “What if I want to hire Pam to direct my script?”

A:  Pam is an independent comedy director for hire.  Feel free to make her an offer she can’t refuse.
